Universal Studios – Osaka, Japan

As the holiday begins, some of you guys might be traveling or going back to their respective province. Some might just be in the comforts of their own home, taking a much needed rest. If you do feel stuck and bored, allow me to take you somewhere magical.

Japan has always been on my travel list. Some time last year, I was just dreaming of going to Japan. This idea popped because of a seat sale. Hello budget travelers! Even though there was a “seat sale” The prices aren’t that cheap either. Still, three of us pushed through.

We spent 8 days in Osaka. With only ideas of what we wanted to do, we basically figured things out as we go. The first thing on our list was Universal Studios.

UNI0When you are a tourist in Japan, the best way to travel is by taking the train…

UNI21…or by foot.

Officially released my inner child when I saw the Universal globe.

UNI3When in Universal Studios Osaka, you cannot miss Harry Potter World. Words cannot express how excited I was when I saw this. My heart skipped a beat!

UNI1HOGWARTS. This is just surreal!!!

UNI2My own cup of butter beer! You can either get it hot or cold. Considering the temperature, I got the hot one. It’s totally non-alcoholic. It’s sweet and tastes a lot like caramel.

The melted snow on the roof added to the feel of the place. Although it wasn’t snowing, it was freezing cold. For a moment, I felt like I was really walking in Hogsmeade and I could just bump into Harry, Ron and Hermione.

UNI7*Tourist photo alert*

UNI6Went here the day after Allan Rickman’s death. I just had to look for Snape’s wand.

Was so tempted to buy a Griffindor scarf and cloak. Did my best to be a smart traveller and adult. I really try to avoid buying souvenirs to focus more on important and useful things.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is undoubtedly the best section in Universal Studios.

UNI8After Harry Potter World, we took time to go around the rest of Universal. It was HUGE. I was becoming tired and frozen. At this point, we were only touching the tip of the iceberg.

UNI9UNI12Shiv, Kako and Ted. Shiv won Ted from an arcade game.

First of the many jump shots of this trip.

Tried to take a photo with the Pink Panther. Failed.

UNI10.jpgMinion Attack! Without any doubt The Minions have grown to be one of the most popular characters. This store houses all kinds of minions and minion inspired bananas.

Went around Universal Studios until the official closing time. If you want to experience the whole theme park, it’s best to get an express pass and dedicate two days for it. The lines can get really long and the theme park is really big. We had to prioritize the things we wanted to do rather than trying to experience the whole park itself.

Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook break while waiting for the train.

We arrived in Japan the night before. Since our flight arrived really late, we only had time to grab a bite somewhere near our place. It was a group decision to take as much rest as we can before we head out and explore what Osaka and the rest of Japan has to offer.

Can’t wait to share the rest of my trip!
