I am proud to say that I have worked on the movie – THE GIFTED — Starring Anne Curtis, Sam Milby and Cristine Reyes. I styled Cristine for this movie. To have a more concrete vision of her look, I read the script from cover to cover more than 3 times before I went out and source clothing. Aica, Cristine’s role, is very soft, light, more on the pastels, preferably on the shades of pink. She is also a teacher, but she needs to be beautiful and sexy while being conservative. The hardest part for me was dressing up the younger Aica – the geeky and ‘baduy’ Aica. To make her look mismatched or baduy, I have to go against my fashion sense to say that I am doing the right job.

Below are more photos and stills from The Gifted. If you haven’t seen the movie, please do watch. I believe there are still some theaters showing it. If not, just wait for the official DVD version. It’s a wonderful film. A very fresh masterpiece from the genius, the director and the writer, Chris Martinez.

THEGIFTED2It’s always fun to work on movies and to get see what’s happening behind the scenes. Some stylists prefer to not go on tapings, I, on the contrary, love it. I don’t mind the long hours, the stress, or whatever–I enjoy every minute of it. Well, I’m thankful for the trust and the opportunity given to me. Now that this project is done, I am excited for what the future holds for me. ❤
